Rare Vintage Hermes Silk Statue of Liberty Centennial Scarf
A majestuous and vibrant Hermès Liberty scarf ‘Statue of Liberty Centennial’. Beautiful bright colour, red, blue, gold and white with a black background. It was designed by Joachim Metz and this is the first 1986 issue. This scarf was designed as a centennial scarf in commemoration of the gifting of the Statue of Liberty to the United States in 1886. This scarf highlights a strong relationship between France and the United States. Joachim Metz’s design features Lady Liberty in center with her iconic pointed crown. The figure is surrounded by both American and French national flags, with sheaves of wheat, stars, and torches along the border. 
 
This rarely seen Hermes silk scarf commemorating the Statue of Liberty centennial is in excellent condition.
